Movie Review: 2 Guns - More like 4 Guns of action and fun!

So over the weekend, I caught the new movie called '2 Guns' starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Is this the beginning of the next Mel Gibson and Danny Glover buddy-cop action flick?

I am going to say...'No'. However, enjoy it while it lasts. Denzel Washington is probably one of the best actors today. He can play any role that is asked of him. He can play a a father who has sick son in the hospital, a time traveling cop, a dirty cop, a pilot that can fly a plane upside down, and of course a guy that carries a book throughout the wasteland of post-apocalyptic United States.

The other actor is Mark Wahlberg and he basically plays himself in all his roles. Kind of like Nicolas Cage, but Wahlberg does a much better job of it. Mark's range of acting has definitely improved over the years and he's actually a lot of fun to watch in any movies he's in.

So what is this movie about? It's about two guys who rob a bank. Not just any bank. A bank that holds money for some very unsavory guys. They are then on their own as they have to get the money back. I don't want to ruin any plot points or things you should discover on your own. I will say that there are some very funny moments and some good action scenes. A bunch of actors you will recognize if you like all things 'X' and cruising amongst the stars in a battlestar.

Oh yeah, one more reason to go watch '2 Guns':

This stunning beauty if you don't know is Paula Patton. She's married to Robin Thicke if you didn't know and although he may be behind some 'blurred lines', I'm sure he can clearly see her every night in bed!

Lindsay Watch - Day 7

No news is good news as they say and there really isn't any news about Lindsay Lohan. The only thing I could find was an article about Lindsay thinking about going to Europe post-rehab, but in the end, she did not.

Why? Because she wants to keep THIS woman happy!
You DO NOT want to cross this woman. Apparently two college researchers determined that her endorsement of then Senator Obama, gave him over 1 million votes during the 2008 Presidential Election.

Anyways, it appears Oprah is setting up a reality show for Lindsay and Oprah wants to make sure her 'star' is going to be around for it. Good luck Oprah! It's only a matter of time!

Lindsay Watch - Day 6

Good evening folks, it's Day 6 in the unofficial Lindsay Lohan post-rehab recovery watch. As of August 6, 2013, Lindsay Lohan has not gotten in trouble with the law and as far as I can tell, she was not mentioned in any recent news article which is a plus for her. Let's see how long that will last and whoever she's hanging out with that is keeping her out of sight, keep it up!

As for her recent stint as a host for 'Chelsea Lately', here is a photo from the show:

Lindsay Watch - Day 5

This is now the unofficial site that will track Lindsay Lohan's post-rehab recovery. She has been released on July 31, but we're tracking as of August 1st.

From now until something 'major' happens, we will track how long she has stayed out of trouble with the law, with other people, and most importantly with herself.

She recently hosted 'Chelsea Lately', but I didn't watch it because I am neither a Lindsay Lohan fan, Chelsea Handler fan, or even know what channel it was on. I doubt I would have even tuned in if I did know the channel. I already missed this week's episode of 'Under the Dome' on CBS at 10pm.

If you're a Time Warner Cable subscriber, don't worry, even if you remembered to tune in, you couldn't watch it anyways.

So how am I counting the days? Lindsay has to make it through the entire day without getting into trouble. This will be based on Pacific time as I have no clue where she is on any given day. At the end of the day, I will give you an update on her status.

Movie Review: Warm Bodies - Not just another zombie love story

So this is another movie that came out earlier this year, but lucky for you guys, it's available to rent on DVD or buy in stores.

As the title and poster might suggest, it's a love story. However, it's not your typical love story. It's about a zombie who falls in love with a human. Okay, let that sink in for a second. A ZOMBIE who falls in love with a LIVING human being.

How does that work exactly? Yeah, I didn't know either, which is why I wanted to rent the movie. I'm a big fan of anything zombies. I really believe it will happen one day where zombies will take over the world. Think about it for a second, more and more zombie movies and tv shows are being produced by Hollywood. The CDC are putting out press releases on what to do in case of a zombie outbreak and there was a scenario played out by the military, first responders, and other agencies on what to do if a zombie-like event happened in Southern California (I think it was in San Diego).

As you may or may not know about my movie reviews. I don't really 'review' it. I kind of give you the basis of the movie and let you discover the movie on your own.

In regards to the movie, 'Warm Bodies', I will say it was a great movie. It has the classic zombie scenario: Humans trying to survive from flesh eating zombies and zombies trying to eat living humans to quench their hunger. However, the difference in this movie is that we get to see the perspective from the zombie point of view. Not only that, we get to see a zombie...fall in love?

That's all I have to say about that. I give it a thumbs up and it was thoroughly entertaining. Go out and rent it today and your heart may be restarted!

90 days of peace apparently extended for at least four more days - Lindsay Lohan is about to be free

This is the face of a 27 year old woman named Lindsay Lohan. She looks much older doesn't she?

Are you wondering why you haven't heard any scandalous news about her in the past 90 days? That's because Lindsay Lohan has been to a court ordered rehab stint in California. Alas our 90 days of peace and quiet was about to be over this Wednesday, but it appears that she wants to stay in rehab for another 3-4 days as a 'transitional' period.

This could be a good or bad thing. Is she afraid of leaving the sheltered, controlled life in rehab or taking her rehab serious and wants to really change. No one knows except the woman herself. A woman who was once a talented actress has gone downhill the past few years.

The 'danger zone' as I call it will be when she leaves rehab and spends the next year or so out in public. Most people with addiction will eventually relapse (my opinion) and that's when it becomes dangerous. Just look at the actor from Glee who recently died from a drug overdose. He just got out of rehab earlier this year and was found in a hotel room dead.

Let's find out what happens to Lohan. I think she needs to stay away from parties, her 'inner circle', and especially her mom.

What do you think?

Movie Review: Olympus Has Fallen - But don't worry, Gerard Butler has got it covered

So this movie came out earlier this summer so you won't be able to watch it in theaters, but when it comes out on Blu-ray/DVD, definitely go out to buy it or rent it.

This movie has a lot going for it. It stars Aaron Eckhart has the President of the United States (believable), Gerard Butler as a secret service agent (believable), and Morgan Freeman as the Speaker of the House (of course it's believable, Freeman has played God...twice, President of the United States, spy, Director of Counter Intelligence, I think you get the picture).

Essentially, Butler plays a secret service agent who is thrust upon a situation where the White House is under attack and several top U.S. officials (including Eckhart's President) who are captured by enemy forces. It's quite ingenious on how the White House is attacked and I think the U.S. government should take notes because while not impossible, it's quite plausible. As always, I won't give a 'real' review as others might and I certainly won't provide anything that might be a spoiler.

Instead, if you didn't have an interest in watching it, give it a chance. I think it will keep you interested throughout the movie and on the edge of your seat.

I did find the timing of this movie coming out interesting and I wonder why movie studios would do something like this. What am I talking about? Basically, two studios produced a movie on the same subject, the White House coming under attack. What's worse? They decide to release the movie during the same summer. The other movie is called: White House Down
This movie stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. While I haven't seen this movie (I had no interest) I assume Tatum plays a secret service agent (somewhat believable) and Foxx as the President (totally NOT believable).

It's also kind of funny because this isn't the first time Hollywood has done this. In fact, it's happened a few times before.

For example, back in the summer of 1998, Hollywood put out two movies about an asteroid hitting the Earth. The movies were Deep Impact and Armageddon. Deep Impact made $349 million worldwide, while Armageddon made $553 million.

Another example came not in the summer movie season, but still just six months apart regardless. The movie was about Wyatt Earp and the competing films were called Tombstone and Wyatt Earp. Tombstone actually came out first in December 1993 and six months later, Wyatt Earp was released. In this instance, Tombstone actually did better financially pulling in $55 million domestically while Wyatt Earp only earned $25 million.

What have we learned here? When two competing movies come out about the same subject matter, one movie is going to do better financially and in terms of popularity.

You can also tell which movie is more popular by how often a movie is played on movie channels like HBO, Showtime, and basic cable. You will see Tombstone and Armageddon more often than Wyatt Earp and Deep Impact.

This summer, I suspect that Olympus Has Fallen will be the movie most people will remember and see on tv channels in the future. The only reason White House Down might have a chance is because of Tatum and Foxx.

What do you guys think? Did I miss another set of movies that came out around the same time on the same subject?

Meet the biggest Weiner in New York City

New York City is full of wieners. I think we all know that. However, New York City now has a reigning wiener.

His name is: Anthony WEINER!!!

Yes, I probably chose the worst photo that is not x-rated. Not only is he the biggest WEINER in New York City, he's also running for mayor. That's right, mayor of New York City.

Now you may ask, 'Why is he the biggest Weiner in New York City?'

Let's give you some background in case you don't know and I'll keep it simple:

1. He was a congressman of a district here in New York City
2. He's a Democrat
3. He's married to a woman who was an aide to Hillary Clinton
4. He sexted pictures of his penis to a woman while he was a congressman
5. He resigned over this scandal
6. He still sexted to at least 6 other women AFTER he got caught and apologized to the people of New York City
7. He wants to be Mayor
8. He's a dick

Somehow this a-hole thinks he can be mayor of New York City. He got caught, not once, but TWICE sexting to women even though he was married. Unfortunately, knowing the stupidity of people here in New York, it might actually happen.

He still has to win the Democratic nomination before heading to the general election, but if somehow this loser gets to become mayor, I will seriously consider moving out of New York City and try my luck in Nassau County.

As I've said before, 'I'd call him an asshole, but he's really a dick'

Movie Review: Pacific Rim - Who doesn't love robots?

So I will be honest with you. When I first saw the trailer for Pacific Rim, I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed at what a stupid movie concept and how anyone greenlit this movie into full blown production.

After seeing multiple summer movies and continuously seeing trailers (the same trailer by the way) for the movie, I kept thinking, 'This movie looks ridiculous' and 'How the hell are robots (controlled by two people) going to fight against monsters?'

I was against watching this movie all the way up to the week the movie was supposed to debut. However, after watching a BRAND NEW trailer (which really helped since it was different than all the rest) and reading a synopsis of what the movie was about, it changed my mind.

In the end, if you liked robots when you were a kid, you WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I mean ANY kind of robots:

Transformers
 Gobots
Regular Robots
Robbie the Robot
and robots that tried to kill Will Smith

However, this is a movie about robots that are fighting 'monsters'. I was cringing how this was going to work from what I saw from the trailers. Two people who are hooked up to a giant robot and their movements control what it does? Really? Yeah, it happens. How does it happen? I won't ruin it for you. I'll let you go watch it and figure it out. It's not as crazy as it seems. Okay, it's a little crazy, but I guess plausible.

So the premise is this, monsters are attacking cities and humans forget their old rivalries and band together to make these giant robots who defend these cities. The good news is that you don't have to sit through the 'origins' as some movies might make you do. They explain in a great way what is going on and then fast forwards years into the future where the story picks up.

I won't ruin anything, but let's just say the action is great, the CGI/special effects are great, and the acting is, 'eh'. Not the greatest, but not the worst. Definitely some cheesy lines and definitely ONE great line! The next time I get use it, I am so using it. I think when you hear it, you'll be like, 'Oh yeah, that line was awesome!'

Overall it was a great movie and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I would definitely check it out if it's still in theaters.

Three out of four stars (***)

I'm back and ready for action

Question, did anyone notice I was missing? For any loyal readers, I apologize again for not posting in such a long time.

It's been quite a busy month and I have lots of thoughts on a lot of different things. I've seen quite a few movies which I will be 'reviewing', but not giving away any details of the movies, because I want you to discover it on your own.

I also posted awhile ago to have a theme for each day of the week. I definitely have a theme for Monday. It's going to be called...

I'll be reviewing a movie (either a recent summer blockbuster or a movie classic) every Monday and let you know if it's worth seeing or not.

Oh by the way, I also want to let you all know the images I use for my blog can be found on Google Images.

If I have used your image and you want me to take it down, please let me know and I'll be happy to.

Okay, so I'll see you guys soon and I'll try to figure out what I should talk about on Tuesday.

Just when you thought you were rid of him, Julian Assange is happily back in the news

So I'm sure all of have heard of Eric Snowden by now. Who is he you ask? He's a 30-year old contractor who worked for the NSA. He stole all this top secret information and went to Hong Kong. He then proceeded to sit down for an interview with a British newspaper.
Of course, this just pissed off the U.S. Government and the U.S. wanted Hong Kong to extradite Snowden back to the U.S. (if they could even 'find' him). So 'somehow', Snowden got to the airport and made his way onto a flight and on to Russia.

His ultimate goal? Go to Russia, then to Cuba, and finally seek asylum in Ecuador. Where did he get this brilliant idea? Apparently from our other 'leader' of secret leakers, Julian Assange. He's basically the biggest douche bag in the world. He's the guy that is stuck in the Ecuador embassy in London, England for the past year. He's there because if he steps out of the building he's in, the London police are going to arrest him and send him back to Sweden because he's wanted for questioning on possible rape charges.

He was nicely out of the daily news since he really can't go anywhere and is stuck in a few rooms of the Ecuador embassy. Now because of Snowden, he's sticking his nose where it really shouldn't. If there was anyone that needs to be 'taken care of', it's this 'man'. There is really no redeeming qualities. I am sure there are some of you out there that think these two losers are 'heroes' and you can have your opinions and I can have mine.

I just hate the sight of these two. Right now Snowden is stuck in the transit area of a Russian airport. His U.S. Passport has been revoked and he can't leave the country. Just send him back to the U.S. and we can extract some justice!

What are your thoughts?

Once again, the critics have it wrong...you MUST go see 'World War Z'

I'm beginning to wonder what the point is in having 'professional' movie critics. As one of my bosses said recently, 'If the movie critics say it's a bad movie, then go see it because it's probably good.'

I'm beginning to believe him because the intial reviews of 'World War Z' was not good. Yes, there were the stories that the movie was over their budget, the studios at the 11th hour requesting the entire ending be re-shot because the studio executives felt the original ending didn't make sense, and the hype wouldn't live up to the actual movie.

That dampened my interest in the movie, but I said, 'You know what? I love zombie movies and I'm going to go see it anyways!'

Personally, I think this zombie thing might actually happen in the real world. Maybe not to the scale of society ending scenarios like 'World War Z' or even 'The Walking Dead'. I mean, with all these movies coming out the last 20 years, I think our military and law enforcement officers would know to aim for the head when taking out flesh eating zombies.

Granted, I can't imagine how hard it is to aim for the head on a moving target running at you, I hope to God they get some more practice at the gun range.

I think every person should watch at least five zombie movies in their lifetimes. Why? To get some pointers and hints on how to actually survive in case of a zombie apocalypse.

Here are a few suggestions of some movies you should definitely watch:

1. Zombieland
2. Dawn of the Dead (2004 version)
3. World War Z (of course)

Each of these movies offer some valuable tip on how to survive against a zombie apocalypse, but one of the best television shows to watch to get hints on how to survive is definitely 'The Walking Dead'.

So what is your favorite zombie movie? Did I miss a good one? One movie I intend to watch soon is 'Warm Bodies'. It's not your traditional zombie movie (since it's a 'love' story of sorts), but I heard some good things and how can a movie go wrong with John Malkovich

Rest in Peace James Gandolfini

Earlier this evening, I found out that James Gandolfini past away during a trip to Italy. He was only 51 years old and way too young to leave this earth.

I wasn't a fan of Sopranos in the beginning (probably because I didn't subscribe to HBO), but I became one during the last few seasons.

I also enjoyed his other works, specifically 'The Castle' with Robert Redford.
Without fail, if this movie is on while I am surfing the channels, I will stop and watch the rest of the movie.

I guess this will also put to rest the hopes of a 'Sopranos' movie because no one can ever replace 'Tony'

Man of Steel: Don't believe the 'critics'

First of all, this isn't a movie review of the 'Man of Steel'. By now, I'm sure if you're interested in seeing this movie, chances are you are going to see it regardless of whether or not I tell you about it in a review.

Plus, I don't profess to be a movie critic. I wouldn't even know where to start. However, what I will tell you is that I almost went in with a pessimistic view of the movie because of the movie critics who say it was boring, dull, slow, and humorless.

First of all, it was produced by Christopher Nolan. You know, the guy that directed the last three Batman movie? You know, the guy that made Christian Bale growl all his lines as Batman so that you could barely understand him? You know, the guy that made Christian Bale play Bruce Wayne not as the clumsy, billionaire playboy like Adam West, Michael Keaton, George Clooney, and Val Kilmer, but brooding billionaire that didn't know how to even try to have fun with all that money.

What were you expecting from this Superman? A happy go lucky Superman played by Christopher Reeves? Or the equally simpleton Brandon Routh?

No, this is the modern day 'complicated' Superman. Let's just say that this Superman doesn't have it as easy as the other Super'men'.

I won't get into it anymore than that because then I'm going to start giving away plot points, but since you know that Nolan had a hand in creating this movie, expect a somewhat 'darker' Superman.

In the end, I thought it was a great movie and another great reboot to a franchise that was hoping for a winner. Go see it and forget what the critics are saying about the movie.

I think you'll enjoy the movie and I can't wait for a Christopher Nolan Batman/Superman movie. Let's hope Warner Bros green lights this movie one day!

What exactly is your handicap?

So I went shopping at Costco (a wholesale club store) this weekend and as usual, it took a few minutes to find parking since it was so busy.

The one thing I always noticed was the handicap parking spots that are normally free of parked cars. For those of you who don't live in the United States, we reserve parking spots close to the stores so those with a handicap (usually wheelchair bound customers or other physical ailments) can get to the store easier.

I'm all for that if you have a legitimate problem. However, I wonder what ailments some of these people actually have? I've had the opportunity to see some people who park in handicap spots, get out of their cars and walk happily to the store without even a limp, while I have to park all the way down the lane and take a trek to the store.

I sometimes even want to call them out and ask what's their handicap? However, this weekend I think I found out what the handicaps were of three drivers. Mind you, this is on the same weekend and taken within seconds of each other.

So what do you think? By the way, the last photo with the old couple standing next to the white SUV? The old woman was driving the car. I really wanted to say something.

Now I also know why they leave so much room between handicap parking spots. Looks like they need all the room they can get!

What are your horror handicap stories?

Someone finally gave Tebow a chance!

It's official folks!

Tim Tebow is now a New England Patriot!!! And right now, Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are shaking in their boots.

Their worst nightmare is about to come true. Getting rid of a misused player that may come back to beat them in a regular season football game. I won't even say playoff game because c'mon, it's the New York Jets and their team is a complete mess!

I wrote about Tim Tebow and if any NFL team will give him a chance.

http://thedailyskoop.blogspot.com/2013/05/tim-tebow-will-someone-give-him-chance.html

I also posted a comment on an article about how the Jets and Tebow were not a 'fit'

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ryan-jets-tebow-were-not-fit-000032888.html?bcmt_s=m#ugccmt-container

Sure Tebow wasn't a fit, because you didn't bother to use him!

My comment from a month ago was:

So good luck Tim! I hope you rush for 100 yards, 2 TDs, and a 2 point conversion in your first game against the Jets. You know with Belicheck's history with the Jets, you know he's going to try and rub it in their faces!

What's your Daily Skoop?

Hey guys,

First off, I must apologize for not having a Daily Skoop posted well....daily!

Of course, life is unexpected and things happen without notice, but I will try to be faithful to you all and provide a post at least once a day.

A co-worker asked me the other day who would want to read someone else's thoughts and ramblings. I told him, 'Apparently, people all over the world.' I've seen people visiting my infant blog from all over the place. Whether you came here by accident or clicked on a link to my blog because of a topic I wrote about that matched your search, I hope you had a good time while you're here.

Anyways, I thought I would provide some direction to my blog. Sort of like a daily topic of what will be discussed, like Monday's can be called 'Movie Mondays' where I provide a review of a movie I saw over the weekend. Or how about 'TV Tuesday', where I review a slew of televisions shows both new and old?

I'd like to hear from you and your ideas.

Leave a comment down below and I'll start this coming Monday!

It's not time for you to board the plane, so why do you try?

So I've been doing some traveling lately and have been taking the airplane. One of the challenges of flying is trying to actually board the plane. As soon as the gate attendant announces that they will soon start boarding the plane, everyone seems to think it's actually time to get on the plane.
However, as most of you know, that's not how it actually works. The gate attendant usually announces how the plane is going to be boarded. It goes something like this with Delta Airlines:

1. Children and anyone who needs extra time to board
2. First Class and Business Class
3. Sky Priority members
4. Zone 1
5. Zone 2
6. Zone 3

Pretty simple right? You basically don't get up to board until you fall into the correct category right? Nope. It's almost guaranteed that someone from a different group will try to get on even though their group wasn't called up.

What does that mean? Unnecessary people blocking others who are trying to get on the plane. It's really funny when they call First/Business Class passengers to board the plane and someone with a Zone 2 ticket thinks they can get on board. The worst part is that they don't bother going back to their seat, they just stand right in front of the line waiting until they can go.

That's not too bad if it were just one person, but sometimes an entire family tries to get on early or a bunch of people try to get on early and now there's a group of people clogging up the front of the line.

I can understand you wanting to get on early before everyone else and I am guilty of trying to time the boarding process so that the last person of the group that gets on before me means that I am the first person to board in my group, but c'mon people! Don't try to board a plane when your zone is two or three zones away and all you end up doing is getting in the way of other people!

What are your horror stories of getting on the plane at the gate? Anyone delay you for no reason or just because they can't listen to instructions like everyone else?

Battlefield Earth - Worst movie ever?

So it's Memorial Day weekend and I just got out of bed. I turn on the tv to see what's on and what do I find playing? Battlefield Earth.

You may be like, what's Battlefield Earth? It's a horribly written, story about aliens that took over the Earth. The aliens are using humans to mine for gold and is led by an alien played by John Travolta.

I will admit that I always enjoyed this campy, sci-fi movie. I never thought it was a very good movie and I watched it for it's ridiculous storyline. Apparently, the movie takes place after the aliens took over the Earth and it's 1,000 years later. Humans have devolved to an illiterate bunch of humans and believe in 'Gods' again.

I won't get into it too much because I want you to enjoy the film as much as I did. Did you feel the sarcasm in that last sentence?

Now this movie has been mentioned numerous times as one of the worst films made. Won seven 'Razzies' in 2000, and was critically panned by movie critics.

Now the one thing I never realized and only discovered after watching the first few minutes of the ending credits that the movie was based on a novel written by L. Ron Hubbard. Yup! That L. Ron Hubbard of the Church of Scientology.

If you don't know anything about Scientology, just look up some of their more famous celebrities. The biggest one being Tom Cruise. Another? That's right, JOHN TRAVOLTA.

After finding out the movie was based on the novel written by Hubbard, it all made sense and perfectly clear why this movie bombed so badly.

So, have you seen this movie? What are your feelings toward it? Good? Bad? Indifferent? What's the worst movie have you ever seen?

Spoiler Alert! How to avoid finding out what happens when someone else knows the ending?

It's that time again, summer blockbuster movies! It's been almost a month now and the summer movies have started appearing in theaters. It's also that time for season finales of your favorite television shows. Some end in cliffhangers and some reveal a changing point in the show.

So what do you do when you haven't had a chance to see the movie or television show, but someone else has is talking about it within earshot? What if you're browsing the internet and stumble upon a story where the writer wasn't kind enough to warn you of the ending?

Should you lock yourself at home? Not click on anything on the internet? The truth is, there's no way to avoid it. Luckily, most sites these days warn their readers about major story lines, plot points, and the big pay off, what happens at the end of the movie.

However, what do you with random people walking the streets or friends posting what happens on Facebook?

That happened to me this past week. A friend posted a major reveal on one of my favorite shows: The Big Bang Theory. I must say, I was a bit pissed off. I would have loved to find out on my own and have enjoyed the moment of finding out. Instead? I was waiting for it during the entire episode. The show itself was great, but I was just waiting and waiting for it. When it happened, I already knew about it and it just wasn't that great of a moment.

Some things are only good the first time you see it. For example, if you know the secret of the movie, 'The Crying Game', then watching it again just doesn't have the same feeling the first time you saw it. I won't ruin it for you, but I heard more than a few times that people leaving the movie would blurt out the secret and ruined it for people waiting in line. I mean seriously, someone should take those people out back and shoot them.
So what did I do with a friend who posted the big reveal? Well, I let him know my displeasure and was seriously going to block him for a few days. In the end, I didn't, because while I'm sure he didn't mean it, he also got a few posts from other friends who thought it wasn't cool.

While I don't suggest you block your friends for such a minor offense, let him know what he did and hope he doesn't do it again in the future.

I also want to warn you about reading the comments section of articles. A lot of times, people's comments will giveaway the ending of a movie or show. That happened to me a few years ago, when I was reading the magazine's comment section and the comment itself gave away the ending of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

I know what you're thinking, 'What? You never read the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy?' My answer? Yes, and I was really pissed off that the magazine's editors didn't put in a spoiler alert for the comments.

So has anyone ever ruined a movie for you? Or told you what's going to happen on your favorite tv show before you had a chance to watch it?

Do you have any ideas on how to avoid people spoiling a movie ending? Add your thoughts in the comment section.

How to pay less the next time you watch a movie at the theatre

So we all know these days that going to watch a movie at the theatre costs money. A lot of money.

They seem to be raising ticket prices all the time and with 3D and IMAX versions of the movie, you can be spending over $20 on a ticket.

While I have yet to watch a movie in 3D, I also don't feel the need to. Some movies are filmed with the express need to show off their '3D-ness'. Just take a look at any of the recent Resident Evil films. There's also a bullet, knife, or something flying 'at you'.

Either way, if your intention is to catch a 'specialized' version of the next summer blockbuster, you're going to be spending more money than you probably want to.

I'm going to try and save you money if your plans are to catch a normal '2D' movie. I see that I have some international readers, so I apologize if I can't help you too much, but I'm hoping there is something similar in your region of the world.

In the United States, we have wholesale clubs like Costco, Sam's Club, and BJ's where you can buy things in bulk and usually at a discount. I know some of these clubs are also available outside the US, so check to see if they offer what I'm going to suggest to save you some money the next time you go to the movies.

What am I suggesting? Buying movie tickets IN BULK! That's right! You can buy movie tickets in bulk (usually in packs of 2 or 10) and you can save a few bucks per ticket. Those extra bucks can then be used to buy some popcorn and soda.

I checked and out of the wholesale clubs I mentioned, it looks like Costco is the only club that offers actual tickets to movies. BJ's offers gift cards to buy tickets at the theatre, but what's the point if you still have to pay full price for the ticket?

Right now, you can buy a 10-pack of tickets to AMC Theatres for $84.99. That's about $8.49 per ticket and when you have to spend like $10-12 bucks for a movie that's a nice little savings over the long run.

Of course, Costco doesn't offer tickets to all companies that run theaters, but they do also offer tickets to Regal and Cinemark run theaters. You can click here to see the deal.

If you have a AAA membership, you can also buy discount movie tickets to AMC and Clearview theaters. Try this link here.

If you guys have any hints or know where you can score cheap tickets in your area, please add a comment below!

Amy's Baking Company - The worst restaurant in America?

So today's blog post will be short one because the video speaks for itself.

I have never seen a restaurant run this way, the owners act the way they act, and especially how they treat their employees and customers.

Let's just say, they probably won't be rated highly on Zagats. I actually want to visit this restaurant just to see how they act and see if the food is as bad as it sounds.

Poor Gordon. I really like him as a celebrity chef, but he didn't deserve this and I'm glad he left!

The 'chef/owner': Amy is clearly nuts and needs to be institutionalized. The 'host/waiter/owner' needs to know he's not a gangster and shouldn't be taking his wait staff's tips!

If you have just 40 minutes in your life to spare, you need to watch these two videos:

Enjoy!

Jack Bauer and '24' is coming back, but it should probably be like '12'

Jack Bauer is coming back to television! Of course, Jack never really left. Jack just became Martin in the television series 'Touch'. To be honest, I didn't watch his new show consistently. Why? Because I never knew when it was on. Fox never gave it a chance by promoting the show during the week. Another reason is because they never kept the show at a consistent time slot.

It was all over the place and I believe relegated to the Friday time slot which basically is the kiss of death. The only worst place for a network television show is to be shown on a Saturday (sorry Smash, you really sucked and deserved to be canceled).

So back to Jack Bauer and '24'. It was a great series for 9 seasons, but it did have some low points. The best part of the setup of the show is that it was only going to be 24 episodes. Each episode was an hour in the crazy life of Jack Bauer where he seemed to scream at everyone and anyone (I'm talking to you Chloe)!

He also had a magic cellphone! This was even before the iPhone existed! He was able to get floor plans to the nuclear facility sent to his phone even though he was in the basement of the building. Hell, I can barely get a single and I'm on the 6th floor of the building I work in!

Call Jack during a moment where he is surrounded by terrorists or enemy guards? Worried that his phone ringer might be on and alert them? Don't worry, it can be on full blast and no one can hear the phone ring but Jack.

Am I excited that Jack is back? Not really. Why? Because 24's concept of 24 episodes representing each hour is now going to be an 'event' series which translates into 12 episodes. What's going to happen to that countdown clock? Who knows? Am I going to watch? Probably just to see if it captures my interest.

DAMMIT CHLOE!!!

Tim Tebow - Will someone give him a chance?

What is wrong with this man? What has he done wrong that no NFL wants him? There's been a lot of talk about Tim Tebow. He's a polarizing figure because of his faith and because of the skills he seems to lack to play as a starting QB in the NFL.

Let's ignore his faith because it shouldn't make a difference. Its his skills as a player and especially at the position of quarterback that has been under the microscope. The first thing we know is that his mechanics (throwing motion, footwork, etc) is awful. Some say that it has improved with some additional coaching, but still, no one will give him a shot.

We all know what he has done in college. If you don't, here are his accomplishments. He's won the Heisman in 2007 and the BCS National Championship in 2008. His final year at Florida, he lead his team to a 13-1 record.

He finished his college career with over 9,000+ yards passing, 2900+ yards rushing, and 145 total TDs.

So what has he done on the pro level? After being drafted by the Denver Broncos, he started three games in his rookie year and came away with a 1-2 record. The team went 4-12 that same year so he was responsible for a quarter of their wins.

The following year, he took over a team that went 1-5 before their bye week led by Kyle Orton. What happened after that bye week? He lead the team to a 7-4 record and a wild card win vs the Pittsburgh Steelers.

What did the Executive Vice President of football operations, John Elway, do after that great season? He traded Tebow to the NY Jets. Elway couldn't get rid of him fast enough. Granted, he replaced Tebow with Peyton Manning, but his eagerness to rid himself of a popular player that led a team to the playoffs should be shameful.

I won't even get into how the NY Jets misused Tebow throughout the 2012 season. The Jets are a mess and how Rex Ryan still has a job is beyond me.

The Jets finally released Tebow after the NFL draft. Some write that was the last kick in the ass and insult to Tebow. Why? Because at this point, all the NFL teams have their drafted players and free agents in their training camps, leaving Tebow out in the cold.

So what happens now? Tebow is looking for a job. He's done nothing wrong in his pro career and everything right. He hasn't been arrested for drugs, drinking and driving, or beating his girlfriend/wife. I can't say that for other NFL players.

Here's hoping someone gives him a chance in the NFL at the QB position and show all his doubters and critics what they passed up.

You can take back Justin Bieber and One Direction, give me back the metal bands from the 80's!

I don't know if I'm getting old or what, but when I listen to music these days, it all sounds the same with no heart or feeling. That's not to say that there aren't any good artists making music, but there are artists out there like Justin Bieber and One Direction who I just don't get. It's all marketing.

When you need to depend on shows like 'American Idol', 'The Voice', and 'X-Factor' to help find the 'next biggest star!', you are in serious trouble!

So what is this rant about? It's about 80's music and specifically the heavy metal bands of its day. I grew up listening to heavy metal during my formidable early teen years and straight through the end of high school.

I was anti-'New Wave' music like Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Erasure, and R.E.M.. It was all about the big hair, long hair, leather jacket, and head banging to the music that was blasting out of our headphones.

If you were a heavy metal fan like me, the only place to see these videos again are on Youtube. Thanks to various posters, you can practically find any video of your favorite band as long as they made a music video for it. That's right, MUSIC VIDEOS! Don't even get me started on MTV!

While we all have our favorite bands, some more hardcore than others, here are a collection of my favorite 'metal' videos from the late 80's. Granted, you might consider them more 'Glam' metal, than some of the real hardcore stuff from bands like Slayer or Testament, but I was never really into those bands.

Listening and watching the music videos bring you back to an age where things were more innocent and not the crazy mess our world is in now. The songs delivered messages and that's something we should all listen to now before we all go nuclear in a different way:

Tesla - Love Song

Poison - Fallen Angel

Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar on Me

White Lion - Wait

Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy
Of course, there are a lot of bands that I haven't posted and tons of music videos that should be posted. I didn't include the obvious ones from bands like Guns 'N Roses, Cinderella, and of course Metallica.
I'll think about posting some more metal band videos in the future.

Leave a comment on which bands you think I should include and I'll post it in the future!

The 'New' Kim Kardashian - Hopefully less annoying

This will be a quick post today, but I think it should speak for itself.

Hopefully, this will CRUSH the one known as Kim Kardashian. As she balloons to proportions not known to science or math, we have someone that has released her own sex tape and will probably be talked about on TMZ and media rags for years to come.
At least from what I was told, the sex tape is a lot better than Kim's. So what is her name? Farrah Abraham. Who's that you ask? She was on MTV's Teen Mom and as the title of the show explains, she is a teen mom.

Once again, who is she? Yeah, I don't care either. At least she has a nicer body. Here are some photos of her whoring herself to the media and trying make some cash along the way. I bet her kid will be real proud in about 15 years from now.

Mean Girls - Where are they now?

So this past weekend, I was watching some tv in bed. I past out on a movie channel and when I woke up, the movie 'Mean Girls' was on. Normally, I would never have chosen to watch this movie again since Lindsay Lohan stars in it, but since it was on and I couldn't find the remote, I ended up watching most of the movie.

While watching this movie, I found it very sad how much talent Lindsay wasted away by drinking and doing drugs. Yes, I'll admit she had some talent early in her career. Freaky Friday and Mean Girls showed some of that. Even Herbie Fully Loaded. However, we all know (whether we want to or not) what has happened to her over the past few years.

It's quite sad actually. She's been arrested multiple times and has been able to avoid any real jail time and only rehab and community services stints. We've gone from this:

To this:

However, while watching the movie 'Mean Girls', it became apparent to me that there were several actors in the movie that I didn't know were actually in it. Of course at the time, these were young actors and this was their 'big' break to act in a movie alongside Lindsay Lohan. Who were these young thespians?

One became a successful writer and tv show creator, another took a Vow, married a time traveler, had a wedding crashed, and finally the last actor was recently very Miserable and In Time to find love with Justin Timberlake.

So who are they?

Tina Fey
Back then, Tina Fey was just a writer for SNL. She wrote the screenplay and starred in 'Mean Girls'. Since then, she's gone on to become the head writer of Saturday Night Live and even created the hit show '30 Rock'. She also starred in numerous movies such as: Megamind, The Invention of Lying, and Date Night.

Rachel McAdams
Starring as the main villain in 'Mean Girls', this was Rachel's big break. After this movie, she followed it up with The Notebook, Wedding Crashers, The Time Traveler's Wife, Sherlock Holmes, and The Vow. Not too bad when you're playing second fiddle to the 'great' Lohan.

Amanda Seyfried
Amanda had a truly supporting role in 'Mean Girls'. She played a 'sidekick' to both Lindsay and Rachel's characters. Since then, she's been in Veronica Mars, Dear John, Big Love, In Time, Les Miserable, and ironically Lovelace (taking over the role from Lindsay Lohan).

So after almost 10 years when 'Mean Girls' came out in theaters, we have Lindsay Lohan in a rehab center for 90 days and in constant trouble with the law, and three careers which has eclipsed Lohan's by miles.

If this wasn't a reason to stay off of drugs and booze, I don't know what is.

Not the best way to start off your NFL career...

Sorry Geno Smith. You were not picked #1 overall in the 2013 draft. Sorry Geno, you were not even picked in the first round. In fact, you got drafted by the New York Jets, so you might want to put up your middle finger instead and point it straight at the Jets ownership, management, and coaches.

They will probably figure out a way to under utilize you throughout the season. You're probably going to outperform Mark Sanchez in the preseason, but for whatever reason, Rex Ryan has a hard-on for #6 (Mark Sanchez) and will start him in every game even if they are 3-11.

Will this happen? Probably not. Why do you ask? Because Geno Smith has just fired his agent. What did the agent do exactly? We're not entirely sure at this point, but from what I read, Geno thought he should be the #1 overall pick even though there were clear signs that he wasn't going to be and when he wasn't chosen in the first round (he left the green room where all potential first rounders sit), he almost didn't come back for the second round. Luckily he was picked and didn't have to sit in the same room as Manti Te'o, but is that any reason to fire your agent?

We'll see if this is just a blip on the radar or of more drama to come. If you see him holdout of training camp, then you might as well write him off. Good luck to the New York Jets. You deserve all the hardships that are awaiting you this upcoming season. It's not going to be pretty and hopefully, somewhere, Tim Tebow is laughing at you with another team.

While I can't confirm, I believe this is how Geno Smith fired his agent:
